Frequently asked questions

When are PSLE 2026 results released?
SEAB has not yet announced the PSLE 2026 results release date. SEAB's standard wording is that the date can only be confirmed once all marking and processing are complete, then is announced through Singapore media. Historically, PSLE results have been released in the second half of November. This page will be updated within 24 hours of the SEAB announcement.
Where will the PSLE 2026 results be announced?
SEAB announces the results release date through Singapore mainstream media (Straits Times, CNA, Channel 5 News, MOE channels) and on the SEAB Important Dates page. The student's primary school is usually informed first.
How does my child get the PSLE results?
Most students collect the result slip in person at their primary school on the announced day. The MOE Schools digital channel also publishes results in parallel. Specific instructions go out from the school in the days before release.
What is the AL score on the PSLE result slip?
Each PSLE subject is graded AL1 (highest) to AL8. The four subject grades are summed to a total Achievement Level score from AL4 (best) to AL30. The AL score is what secondary schools use as their cut-off. Lower number is better.
What happens after results day?
Within roughly one week, families submit the secondary school choice list (up to 6 schools, in order of preference) via the MOE portal. Posting results are released by MOE in late December. An appeal window of about two weeks follows. See our secondary school posting guide for the full timeline.
How can my child prepare in the gap between results and Sec 1?
Most families take the first two weeks fully off. Then a light reset in January: read English fiction, brush up on Math (algebra basics, the move from arithmetic), and start Higher Mother Tongue if applicable. Avoid heavy tuition, the Sec 1 syllabus is designed to start fresh.
Where can I confirm the official date when announced?
On SEAB's Important Dates for Candidates page (seab.gov.sg/important-dates-for-candidates) and through Singapore mainstream media. The PSLE Examination Timetable PDF (file.go.gov.sg/2026-psle-exam-cal.pdf) is updated as SEAB confirms each milestone.
